Financial evidence for application enablement
Geoffrey asked for money numbers, statistics and useful graphs for leadership. This supplement supports the existing application-enablement direction. It is a shortlist for selection, not a new slide sequence. HTML and narration are unchanged.
Recommended use
| Candidate | Message it can support | Sparse exhibit | Boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Holcim [F01] | This is an investment decision in building materials. | Two labelled numbers: annual investment and future EBIT target. | Make target by 2028 prominent. No ROI ratio. |
| Care Access [F04] | Engineering can improve cost and speed together. | Two before/after pairs, each starting at 100. | Model-service cost and time, not full application ROI. |
| Klarna [F02–F03] | Connect economics to an operating business unit. | Three historical bars plus a separate annual-savings annotation. | Separate periods and denominators; avoid causal attribution of the whole trend. |
| Pinterest [F05] | Specialisation can change inference economics. | Comparator = 100; specialised model <8. | Optional backup for control/ownership; incomplete TCO. |
For a 23½-minute talk, choose two or three exhibits. Holcim fits the opening business context; Care Access fits the engineering bridge; Klarna fits the whole-workflow KPI discussion. Preserve both demonstrations. These external examples establish plausibility, not Halbach results or a Knauf savings forecast.

- F04: Care Access / AWS, November 2025.
- F05: NVIDIA Pinterest case. Pinterest’s own announcement supports the architecture context, but does not independently repeat the cost ratio.
- F06: AWS Java modernisation example, reserve: useful absolute money number but less directly related to optimising AI execution.
- F07: Holcim historical digital programme, reserve: includes technologies beyond AI.
The source register [local reference omitted] records dates, scope, evidence type and limitations. Chart data preserves reported values separately from derived chart indices.

Alt text: Two separate bar charts. Klarna’s adjusted service and operations cost per completed transaction is 32, 25 and 19 US cents in Q1 2023, 2024 and 2025. Care Access’s baseline is 100 for each metric; after caching, the cost index is 14 and processing-time index 34. These are company-reported outcomes with different scopes, not comparable absolute costs.
The script reads the CSV: USD values multiply by 100 for cents; reported percentage reductions become remaining-index values using 100 minus reduction. Zero baselines, no smoothing or interpolation, no invented error bars. Public reports do not provide replicate-level uncertainty. All three historical Klarna points are retained. No FX conversion or extrapolated annual volume.
Preview uses Matplotlib 3.10.8, 14 × 7.5 inches, opaque PNG at 160 dpi plus vector SVG/PDF. SVG preserves glyph outlines; PDF embeds fonts. Figure is for candidate review, not a new slide.
Screening decisions
Unidentified consultancy success stories and unsourced dollar conversions were excluded. Canva’s reported cost-driven rollout delay is a promising narrative lead, but the original interview was not directly verified in this pass; do not promote its reported 90% figure from this record. Hardware memory reduction and token-price declines cannot by themselves establish application cash savings. No general inference about all enterprises follows from these selected successes.
Verification
Source IDs, reported values and derived indices checked against the source register. PNG visually inspected for clipping and legibility; 2240 × 1200 pixels, fully opaque. PDF verified as one 14 × 7.5 inch page. No unpublished client information is used. The methods reference is included as required by the visualization skill.
Continuation
Research checked 27 October 2026. Private main was 872d8ce before this supplement; fetched refs were unchanged and there were no open PRs. Next: select exhibits, decide which existing slide each replaces, and integrate with the single canonical script. No website publication or demo verification performed.

Implemented in html-v10 [local reference omitted]: Holcim on slide 4, Care Access on slide 12, Klarna on slide 17, and Pinterest in backup A6. Values are generated from the CSV above. Each evidence slide has visible clickable primary-source citations, with scope and limitations in the canonical narration and reference pack. F06–F07 remain research reserves. The earlier shortlist and chart preview retain their research context.
